Day 7 (among MANY other things...)

Day 7's question is, "Four things you couldn't live without."
1. God. He is who I am living for. Without Him, I would be nothing.
2. My family. They are such a blessing to me! I can talk to my parents about anything.
3. My friends. What would I do without my wonderful friends? =)
4. Piano. I seriously do NOT know what would happen to me if all the pianos on the face of the earth were suddenly destroyed... I would have nothing to play.
5. This stuffed animal I have had since I was born. I don't think I've slept one night without this treasured stuffed animal next to me.

Speaking of the piano... Here are pictures of my family's new piano!

Before, we had an electric Roland piano. We bought a real piano, partly because my touch is different on a real piano vs. an electric piano. It's something about being able to physically hit the note and have the hammer hit the strings that's different than playing "canned" music. Plus, I can now play dynamics! It's really hard to play dynamics (and even accent marks like staccatos) on an electric piano.

Here is a video of me playing the piano for Grama. =D I hope you enjoy!

Well.... Somehow my tag came back to me. Hee hee. I tagged someone who tagged someone who tagged me so I am going to answer the questions and then stop this madness!!
Here are the 11 questions from Libbie! (And thanks for the tag!)

1. What is the most annoying or worst slogan? The most annoying is from a commercial... And I forgot what the commercial is so I won't burden you! Really, any commercial with a slogan is annoying.

(Sherlock picture I made.... All this Propaganda in my WW2 class is getting to me....)

2. Are you a sociopath? (every 1 in 25 people are) Nope! But Sherlock is... At least the one from BBC's production states he is. Not sure about the one in the books.
3. What is your favorite color and why? Blue. Because it's always been blue.
4. What is your favorite song with no words? Hmmm.... Probably Rachmaninoff's Predule in C Sharp Minor. I could listen to it over and over and over again. Or perhaps the Piano Concerto No. 1 by Tchaikovsky... Or Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody.
5. If you could meet any book/tv show/movie character, who would it be? Ooohhh hard choice. Probably Sherlock Holmes. Or Tintin. Or Captain Haddock. Or perhaps the crew of the Enterprise.... Or Daniel Jackson from Stargate SG-1.
6. What are you doing right now? (other than answering these questions) If this is all you are doing, what did you do right before attempting these questions. I am answering these questions, listening the Piano Concerto named above and also reading stories on FanFiction.net.
7. What is your favorite word? Goodness... I don't know. I love the word flabbergasted.
8. What is your favorite city? (you don't have to have been there, and it can be fictional) Hmm... London is pretty cool. So is Seattle and Victoria (Vancouver Island, BC.)
9. This might be a little early or you might have already had to answer this question, but what would you name your kids? If I had two girls I would name them Arica and Lucy and if I had two boys I would name them Daniel and Andrew.
10. Who is the hottest person who is dead? This question is NOT literal. Hmmm.... I honestly have absolutely NO clue.
11. What is your favorite book written before 1913? Either Sherlock Holmes stories or Jane Austin's books.

Speaking of books... I was pondering the other day about the Lord of the Rings books by J.R.R. Tolkien. I can hardly believe that Lord of the Rings was written less than 85 years ago! It's such an amazing (not to mention clean! Other than the battles. But even those aren't too scary) series it hardly seems like something that amazing could be written within the last 100 years. It seems like books have been going downhill VERY fast recently. Around 1930ish C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien thought books were going downhill fast as well so they set out to write good works of fiction that anyone could read. The result? The Lord of the Rings and The Chronicles of Narnia; two beloved book series. I want to write good quality series like that as well. But I also want to write about issues that people face today. I suppose it's possible I can write both. No one ever said an author had to write in one specific genre her whole life!

And now I am going to go off and write a skit I came up with this morning. Have a great day!

Wow! That song that you played on the piano is awesome!! Your piano is really pretty! I wish mine was black and shiny...*sigh*. Oh well, my piano is still awesome! :D What did you do with your old piano?? Is it in the other room and can I have it??? (If you didn't catch that, I was refering to that dream you had about me getting a new piano and then my mom telling you that you could have our old one.) Just kidding! Hee hee!!! I am feeling jokey as you can see...I don't even know if that is a word...I guess I am mostly hyper. :D

  3. Congratulations on your new piano! I bet you and your mom are LOVING it! It's beautiful, and I completely agree about loving the weight of the keys, and the ability to vary your dynamics.

    Have a great week! :)
